So much win.
And then a random comment at the end about graduating together? Seriously, is that last line for another secret?

Anon can kindly go away then. The Glee fandom is the most awesome creative fandom that ever was and it’s people like you hating on us that is the source of any negative feelings. No one hates the show, but you hate us, and you are no longer welcome here.

It’s not so much radical opposition to him begin gay so much as the radical opposition to the insistence that he’s gay by a group whose motive is also their own ships (hidden underneath the banner of a call for more LGBT representation). Glee has the best LGBT representation on television, and will likely add more at some point, but there is no need for it to come from Sam in particular except for the aforementioned ships.
In addition, his being gay would indicate an inconsistency in his storyline. He’s been shown to have a sexual attraction to Quinn. Sam being fully homosexual actually hurts continuity, and the show is criticized for that enough. Sure, he may turn out to be bi, but taking the planned (and apparently scrapped) storyline out of context, and considering it simply from what appears on screen, that is just slightly more likely than any other straight male character to turn out bi.

Can I point out that Brittany is most likely pan? Her attraction to Artie and Coach Beiste shows a certain lack of prejudice towards stereotypical gender traits. Artie, while definitely male, is paralyzed, a somewhat demasculizing trait. Coach Beiste is a decidedly unfeminine woman, both in appearance and demeanor. Also notice the complete of commentary on gender concerning her relationships with Artie and Santana; she treats their love for her equally.

How about just a parent-teacher conference episode? The Glee fandom invents spinoffs like they’re candy.

I’m pretty sure that’s called special guest appearances on Glee Season 4. An actual spinoff would be kind of depressing, don’t you think?

I salute you, Anon.

Artie needs to be put into a coma so we can have all Artie dance sequences all the time. McHale’s got moves.

Oh, Anon, you win the entire Internets.

All good points. But nothing in your post requires that Sam specifically be gay to have the touching storyline. If they introduce a gay jock next season—you know, another one besides Karofsky…
A gay jock introduced next season could do all the same things as would happen if Sam’s storyline hadn’t been changed to make him straight.
Except give the Hevans shippers what they want. Just saying.
